Harness Racing BC represents all Trainers, Drivers, Owners, Breeders and Grooms for Standardbred Racing in BC.
We act on behalf of our members for all negotiations with the racing sector.
BC breeding is the foundation to racing in British Columbia.
Every year our members produce a crop of foals, some of whom will go on to make many trips
to the winner’s circle. Many of the richest and most prestigious races of the season are staged
exclusively for B.C. Bred horses.
For many people, racehorse ownership is a first step to becoming a breeder. Nothing can match
the thrill of seeing a horse you have bred and raised perform well on the track. Should you
decide to take the step into breeding, we are here to provide advice and support. Hope to see

Harness Racing BC Society Membership
The Society proudly represents the harness horsemen (owners, trainers and
drivers) and breeders in the Province of British Columbia. Membership in
HRBC is required in order to participate in harness racing in the province and to
receive any benefits offered by the Society.
Harness Racing BC (HRBC) has two categories of membership. Active Membership
for Owners, Breeders, Trainers and Drivers and Associate Membership for
Grooms, persons under 18 years of age and others ineligible for Active
Membership.
The principals of a corporation, association or partnership that own
and operate a breeding establishment for Standardbred Horses in BC are also
eligible for Active Membership, as are non-residents of BC who own and operate a
breeding establishment for Standardbred horses located in BC.
The membership year will run from January 1st to December 31st and any
application for membership must be in written form, accompanied by the annual
membership dues, and is subject to approval by the Board of the Society.
